We had a pretty nasty cold spell and as things warmed up this week the wind amplified. But, Friday and Saturday were nice and fishing good. Today back to breezy but really warm. Standard winter nymphing rigs 6-8′ with a leech, worm, scud and midge patterns doing it. There are excellent midge hatches in the winter and the fish will push up into faster water during these peaks. tailout and edges are always a good bet. Slow retrieve your streamers and try to keep the bugs in play for non committal nudges…they will often stay on its tail.
Still offering winter trips and a smoking deal on cottage/day trip combos. This will run into late winter so get this program booked. Or you can buy less at the trade shows in Denver in a couple weeks;)
