Central Wyoming fly fishing has been top notch the past couple days. Grey Reef, Miracle Mile and Fremont Canyon report is clear water conditions with strong hatches midday. Grey Reef flows are 2400cfs, Miracle Mile flows are 1800cfs and Fremont Canyon was bumped but haven’t received a flow stat.
Miracle Mile fly fishing is good but not the same production as Grey Reef. The roads have recovered nicely and a nymph rig of worms, leeches and beatis nymphs will be a solid bet. A touch more weight on a short leader has been a better option for the tailouts.
Fremont Canyon is fishing well and there are good dry fly opportunities to be had.
Grey Reef is fishing from the dam to Glenrock. The groups focusing on lower floats have been hooking a lot of smaller fish so stay in North Platte Lodge territory if you want to stay busy with the trout Grey Reef is famous for. That being said take a kid fishing and if you are in Casper you are rarely 5 minutes from a fishy spot. Nymph rigs working the best at Grey Reef. Scuds, worms like the deep purple, pine squirrel leeches, foam wing RS2!, Pulsating Emerger!, PAL!, Wonder Nymph etc all getting plowed by eager fish in the hatch zone.
