We had some big thunderstorms roll through the area last night and conditions below Government Bridge this morning were poor. But it should recover quickly with Grey Reef flows at 3,600cfs. Fishing on Grey Reef remains good as we enter the “in between” period of predominant hatches. BWO’s have more or less wrapped it up and PMDs, caddis and sallies will be coming up next. So what should you be using right now? Leeches, reef worms, san juan worms and pheasant tails is a great place to start. Concentrate on the inside seams and drop-offs…and at this level it’s time to start throwing to some banks. Miracle Mile continues to hold at 2,500cfs and we are still fishing the Pat’s rubber legs, as the golden stonefly nymphs are getting more active. Expect that hatch to pop towards the end of the month. Fremont Canyon is currently flowing at 2,500cfs. Big water!! Look for the slowest water possible and break out the leeches, worms, and pheasant tails.
