Fishing on all 3 of our main tailwaters has been awesome! We are finally seeing our summer bugs and the fish have been loving it! PMD’s, Yellow Sallies, Caddis, leechesĀ and midges have been the desired food recently. There are hoppers all over the banks and bugs are everywhere. It should only be a matter of time before fish start looking up, but until then we have been focusing all our efforts on nymphing and it has been productive!
Fremont Canyon- 560 CFS- Fishing has been great at Fremont, we have been seeing PMD’s, Yellow Sallies and Caddis. Pheasant Tails, Poxyback PMD, Gabriel’s Trumpet, RS2’s and Barrs Emergers have all been effective patterns. Don’t get deterred from fishing here because of the high water, focus on the slower seams and soft edges up there and the fishing can still be what we all know it to be at 75 CFS!
Miracle Mile -850 CFS- Stones are finally here! We have been seeing a good amount of golden stones flying around in the mornings and evenings up there and if timed right some surface action is possible! Throughout the day we have been focusing our efforts on nymphing, pats rubber legs, prince nymphs, RS2’s, Birds Nest and Poxyback PMD have been the go to flies.
The Reef -3000 CFS- PMD’s, Caddis and Yellow Sallies are flying around the Reef and we have been imitating them with flies like the Poxyback Pmd, Crackback Pmd, RS2, Pheasant Tails, Hares Ears and Leeches as well.We have been finding them feeding off ledges, in the slow seams and the slower inside bends.
