Dry Fly Extravaganza!

Hard to beat fishing on the North Platte right now! Fish are attacking dries, streamers, and nymphs! Fishing from the mile to all the way below Casper has been consistently good, with dry/dropper being the prefer method. We have 1 cottage left for this weekend, come see some fired up fish on the surface!

Miracle Mile – 500 CFS Fishing has been pretty good on the Mile. still having some fish eat the hopper and definitely the dropper. Nymphing has also been solid, prince nymphs, hares ears, san juans, and Rs2’s have been the top bugs. Still definitely some crowds out there on the weekends, but plenty of places to fish!

Fremont/cardwell- 75 CFS Dry fly fishing all day, Parachute adams, Slum hopper, south fork chernobyl and  elk hair caddis will get it done. Make sure to pick the fish you want to catch, watch them rise a few times then put your fly right in front of them.Nymphing has also been good, prince nymphs, La Fontaines caddis pupa, buckskin caddis, mayhem midge, and the rs2 all working well.

Grey Reef-below Casper- 500 CFS Hoppers are still hopping! Throwing a double dry rig has been very effective, hopper followed by a parachute adams in the morning and a caddis after noon. We’ve also been running the hopper with a bead head dropper about two feet below it, prince nymphs, pheasant tails, hares ears, and the tailwater tiny have been go-tos. The nymphing has been ridiculous some days with prince nymphs, hares ears and rs2’s. You can go a little heavier and deeper in the runs and then mini-rig everything in between! streamer fishing with a goldie followed by a thin mint or peacock bugger on a floating line has been deadly some days!

As always if you have any questions or want to book stop by or give us a call!
