It’s Dry Fly Time! North Platte fishing Report

Dry fly fishing has been outstanding the past few weeks! Tricos in the morning, hoppers (finally!) and psuedos in the afternoon, and caddis in the evening! Flows have stayed stable the past month, but we do expect them to drop sometime soon. We have a stellar weather forecast this weekend, get up here and experience of these Grey Reef trout go crazy on the surface.

Fremont/Cardwell-75 CFS- fishing has been good with dries, streamers, and nymphs now that the water has dropped. Parachute adams with a mayhem midge dropper has been deadly in the morning. Switching to nymphing caddis and midge patterns. Try swinging soft hackles later in the day through the faster water.

Miracle Mile- 1,000 CFS- Fishing has been consistently good with really nice fish being caught. Purple and pink san juans, bead head prince nymphs, and RS2’s have been our go-tos.

Grey Reef- 2,000 CFS- Dry fly fishing has been the way to go, royal wulff’s, parachute adams trailed by a GS trico spinner in black or purple. If you want to nymph, prince nymphs, pheasant tails, rs2’s, and all day mays have been getting em.
