Yawn! Fishing remains very good! There have been some good dry fly opportunities with big midge hatches. Nymphing is for mass production with midges, worms, leeches and scuds. Still getting some good eats stripping streamers. No need to sling the pinned bead snagging rig as bugs are working well.
We are bracing for another round of snow storms. Southern WY is going to take the brunt and that will be great for the North Platte’s water supply but create treacherous roads for those coming from the south. Casper is expected to receive 3-6 inches but the mountain up to 15″. Our last 2 storms the Alcova area was treated more the mountain in snow totals. Miracle Mile has been fishing well but the roads have made it mostly inaccessible. This storm will likely continue the rough road situation for another 5 days. Even if snow isn’t heavy the drifting can be severe and the melting will muddy the road to make it a pointless operation. Grey Reef is quiet and fishing great.
The spring flush has been delayed until the 21st or 22nd of March. It will last for 10 days.
We have some excellent openings at the lodge. Call for details. 307.237.1182
