Not a whole lot has changed since our last report, other than a week of much needed intermittent moisture. And we are thankful! The recent wet pattern might have put a few minor burps of off-colored water into Grey Reef but it hasn’t really been too bad. As far as the fishing goes, take your pick. With the right weather our guide crew has been sticking them on nymphs, dries and streamers. It’s been pretty fishy out there to say the least. For Grey Reef, Miracle Mile and Fremont-we are still going with the standard spring fare-midges(PAL, rhinestone, etc.), baetis(foam-wing RS2s, big bear, macgruber’s, etc.), leech patterns, reef worms, scuds and egg patterns. If you’re a streamer kind of person, here’s our current go-to patterns; trusty rusty, micro-envy(white, black or olive), butcher, mini-dungeon(white, black or natural), and a kreelex have been our top producers.
The shop will no longer be selling fishing licenses, so please make sure to have it before you get here.
There have been positive, substantial changes made to our North Platte fishing regs. Make sure you’re up to speed.
