Let’s start with flows. We’ve been fielding a lot of phone calls regarding current and potential flows. Here’s what we know at this point: Grey Reef is currently at 500 CFS. We are expecting flows to go up at some point over the next few weeks, probably somewhere in the 1,000 to 2,000 CFS range, if we had to guess. As for the Miracle Mile, flows are currently sitting at 500 CFS, and they are expecting it to stay that way for the summer, so there will be no change there. Fremont Canyon should be sticking in that same low-flow range (75 CFS) as well. Obviously, we have not seen flows like this in quite some time, but it has happened before; if we recall correctly, 2009 was very similar in a lot of ways. So, as for the fishing… it’s been pretty fun out there! Single dry, dry-dropper, streamers, or the standard nymph rig—take your pick. We have clear water conditions from Grey Reef to Casper and beyond. Yes, there is some suspended algae and plant matter in the water column, but all in all, it is not that bad. It’s been a really fun season thus far, and we are looking forward to seeing what the summer brings.
