Grey Reef Fishing Report

Some weather has rolled into Alcova, but should be short lived. The upper Grey Reef is still clear and looking great! Snow and rain mix the past two days has made the lower river off color. They slightly increased the flow today to 2,200 CFS on the Reef, this will help push the off color water downstream and clear things everything up in no time. The road to the mile should be avoided for a few days, they received a lot more snow up there and the road is MUDDY! The next few days will bring some nicer weather for the weekend.

Our best flies on the Reef have been purple and red san juan worms, red reef worms, leeches, pheasant tails, and Rs2’s. We have been fishing 4-7 feet indicator to weight with 2 bb’s as our weight. All of the slower deeper water has been the most productive.

As always if you have any questions don’t hesitate to drop by or give the shop a call. Our hours are 7:00-6:00 everyday!
