Grey Reef Fishing Report

Today is day 3 of the flush and the fishing never wavered. Even on Monday, when the river looked like tomato soup, the afternoon fished well. Yesterday the river was green but never really got brown until you were below Government Bridge. The surge hit the narrows around 9:30am and by 11:00AM the upper was back to low flows. Typically the high water is a little shocking, but after the last couple years of super high water 4000cfs seems about right. The low water kind of feels like when an acquaintance shaves their mustache/beard after sporting it for a long time…makes you look again.
Baetis!! Trent was out yesterday and I received and excited text about a substantial baetis hatch. The funnest fishing of the spring season is about to begin! Very suspended and very aggressive emerger eaters. I love spring baetis!
Wade fishing remains amazing and if you like to get out of the confines of the boat give a call. 307.237.1182
