Grey Reef Fishing Report / Conditions

The weather is much improved from yesterday and there are many anglers taking advantage of it ! I received mixed reports from the fishermen yesterday, but overall the fishing was productive at the Miracle Mile, Fremont Canyon and Grey Reef. With the wind and occasional snow showers the action was spotty, but those who stuck it out eventually did well on nymphs and streamers. There was even some surface activity at Grey Reef dam and the Cardwell section of Fremont Canyon on midge patterns like the Griffith’s Gnat and a Black Sipper.  Darker Pine Squirrel leeches, Purple San Juans and red Rock worms were producing if you were nymphing and the more slender profile streamers like a Goldie or the Voodoo Priest got the job done.

Don’t forget the flush starts at midnight tonight and goes through the 26th.  Expect a fair amount of floating debris on the first day. Through the rest of the flush the fishing should be great!
