What a beautiful day here on the North Platte River! Mild temps in the high 40’s, little wind and lots of sun. Reports from our guides yesterday continue to be strong on the Grey Reef section. The clarity is still rotten below Government Bridge today and I do not expect much of a change through the weekend. The early bird may get a couple of hours in first thing in the morning before Bear and Bolton creeks start to flow but that really depends on how cold it gets tonight. The bad visibility on the lower river has driven nearly everyone who is floating to the upper section and I will guess the same will hold true tomorrow. The fishing is great, the crowds not so much! With that being said, there are other options. The Miracle Mile, Dome Rock Lake, Fremont Canyon and the afterbay (section below Alcova Dam) have all been producing good trout. The forecast for tomorrow is for a bit more wind, but temps in the 60’s with lots of sun. Sounds like a perfect day to fish. Get up here and see us!
