Grey Reef / Miracle Mile / Fremont Canyon Fishing Report

Good weather is in store for us for the next several days.  The Grey reef section is fishing very well, but be prepared to do some serious back rowing if you are floating.  Getting your depth and weight right are crucial.  The trout are still eagerly taking leeches, worms, Rs2’s, small pheasant tails and caddis patterns.  The reef’s Goldie, Sex Dungeons, Sparkle Minnows and Near Nuff Sculpins are a good bet if you like to throw streamers.  All of these patterns should produce clear to Casper.  The Miracle Mile flows dropped again to 550 cfs this week.  Everything is now accessible to the wading angler.  Big San Juans are still producing if you are nymphing and just about any large streamer should get a grab or two. I am not sure what is going on at Fremont Canyon right now.  There was some talk about raising it again to 500 cfs to do some maintenance on Pathfinder dam but what the flows are currently I don’t know as the gauge is not reporting.  We will let you know when we know.
