Grey Reef / North Platte River Fishing Report

Finally some water!  Grey Reef is sitting at 1500 cfs this morning and expected to top out at 2500 cfs by weeks end.  What a difference this has made.  The trout are spreading out and nearly everything including the long flats are producing. Nothing  has changed with fly patterns, midges, PMD’s and yellow sallies are still working well, but the streamer fishing should continue to get better as the higher flows is putting more current on the banks.  Sparkle Minnows and Sex Dungeons are always a good choice.  The clarity below Government bridge is fowled up again and expected to be dingy until the flows stabilize.  Still no word on what the deal is at the Miracle Mile, but  flows have hovered around 3000 cfs since Friday.  I do expect that to change this week.  Check the flows before making that drive.  With the nearly calm winds we have experienced yesterday and today, the surface activity has been pretty steady at Fremont Canyon/Cardwell.
