High and Dry

High pressure moved in and Alcova is sunny and beautiful. Snow totals are tough to gauge but Casper’s official total is 16″. The mountain official is 38″. Hwy 220 is in great shape but the Lusby Road is drifted and sloppy. The fishing is excellent with light nymph rigs. Streamer fishing is good and we are seeing quite a bit of dry fly yet. Miracle Mile is fishing well as is Fremont. Fly Shop Creek is running a bit right now. Eagle Creek hasn’t popped but we are not optimistic that it remains dry. The river is already murky at Lusby and snow is melting quickly. That being said we have cancelled most of our trips for the day but did send a couple last minute groups out…and they are doing well. We will keep you posted as the snow melts;)
