It’s really hard to believe that tomorrow is September 1st and we are making our way toward fall. August has been a little weird with lower flows and the voluntary closure below the Lusby boat ramp. Current Grey Reef flows and conditions are as follows: 500 cfs and a little hazy from Grey Reef to Lusby but fishable. Conditions downstream of Government Bridge are currently less than ideal, as it is still cloudy from our big rain event a few weeks ago. That being said, we are expecting things to settle out and clear up over the next week or so.
If you are planning on hitting Grey Reef, it’s mostly a nymphing game right now, but we should see the dry fly thing fire back up as conditions improve. Miracle Mile (550 cfs) and Fremont Canyon (75 cfs) are plugging right along, with fishing being primarily nymphing mixed with some dry fly and streamer activity.
The shop will no longer be selling fishing licenses, so please make sure to have it before you get here.
There have been positive, substantial changes made to our North Platte fishing regs. Make sure you’re up to speed.
