Well…after a pretty cold and snowy start to the 2013 North Platte fishing season we are finally starting to see an improvement in weather and we are now running full speed. Our cabin and RV project is behind but we should make up for it in the coming weeks. Our guide trips have gone through the roof and from here on it’s non-stop til November!! The fishing has been superb the past week or so on all three tailwaters. Nymphing with some surface stuff mixed in has been the name of the game. Grey Reef is starting to see a pretty steady, daily baetis hatch. Keep in mind this moves a lot of fish to the riffles and inside water, making a shorter, lighter “mini” rig the key to sticking em’. Our streamer bite has slowed down but we are still getting into a few on the articulated Goldie.
