North Platte Fly Fishing Report

After weeks of beautiful winter weather we are back to some wind today.  Some is a very loose term…it’s probably blowing 50mph on Grey Reef today.  While we may gripe about the wind, it means the mountain ranges that feed our Wyoming rivers are currently getting pounded with snow.  Not a bad trade off.

As for the fishing…Grey Reef continues to fish really well.  Midge dries on those calm/overcast days and nymphs/streamers on everything in between.  Standard nymph setup on Grey Reef has been 6-9ft, 1-2AB split shot and leech/egg/worm/midge setup…two or three fly configuration.  We are still picking up good numbers of BIG Grey Reef rainbows and browns on Medusa’s, home invaders, sex dungeons, etc….and as always the Goldie continues to crush em.
