Well, the weather man was right! We woke this morning to temps in the low thirties and a stiff north wind. Tonight promises to be even colder! The good news is, the forecast for the weekend could not be better. Mild temps in the 70’s and very little wind. The fishing continues to be very productive just about everywhere. We had guide boats below Casper a couple of days this week and the streamer fishing was great. Sex Dungeons, Near Nuffs and Bow River Buggers put most of the trout in the boat. With the seasonal weed growth, fishing from Lusby to Casper has been most floaters choice right now. Vegetation is less and the catching has been good here on Crawdizzles, leeches, larger San Juans and Caddis patterns . I have received good reports from the Miracle Mile this week and I anticipate the opportunities to get into some nice browns will increase as fall comes on. A mixed bag of streamers, crayfish patterns and nymphs have producing. With flows back to normal levels at Fremont Canyon most fly fishers are getting into good sized trout. Trico’s, Caddis patterns, worms and leeches and a well placed streamer seem to be the flies of choice. This should be a great weekend to fish!
