Another solid day yesterday and very good average size fish coming to the net. Lots of 18″+ with a number of rainbows in the 21-22″ range. Miracle Mile also fishing very well as is Fremont. Can’t really go wrong with any choice.
Baetis and midges are the hatch so fly fishing applies;)
Water conditions are very good again so the door is open for a number of sections. Grey Reef flows remain at 900cfs and Miracle Mile flows are 700cfs. We might even get a fair bit of water in the ditches with the recent winter storms! We are certainly excited for the added snow pack of late.
Couple quick reminders: First, most of Grey Reef is flowing over private property. It isn’t appropriate to drop your anchor, beach or wade on ground that you don’t have permission to do so. It is also not necessary to crowd other anglers on the river. You will see some guides doing this but it is pretty lame practice. If you should have that experience with a TRFS or NPL guide, we want to hear about it and address it. Also as an FYI the name of the dam , reservoir and area is Grey Reef. It often is referred to as Grey’s Reef which isn’t correct. I always like to refer to a location by it’s accepted local name so thought I would throw that out there. Now try Popo Agie or Gros Ventre other WY rivers that struggle to get their credit!
