What a crazy weekend. Fishing is, yawn, very good. Trico surface activity has been great with the spinners fall in the AM. Caddis have been giving surface thrills late in the day. Still coaxing them up on big attractors as well. Nymphing has been productive with caddis patterns, sunken tricos, crawdad, leech , scuds etc. PMD and Sallie patterns still doing it despite the hatch fizzling for 2013. Next up psuedos! Streamers are getting some love as well.
Flows are 1000cfs at the Mile and the color is standard late summer tanic with some goo added, 75ish at Fremont and looking a little gooey as well, Grey Reef is 2000cfs and in very good condition for the time of year with a touch of green. Mile is fishing okay as is Fremont but Grey Reef continues it’s old faithful mentality.
NPL has some very nice lodge availability in September. Some spots will be during the Sage Grouse season so a fun cast and blast option is looming!
