Finally, spring is here, I think? We are enjoying our first dose of temps near 80 degrees! The fishing has been off the charts. We are getting great reports from all sections of the river. Road conditions are good to the Miracle Mile and the river below Government Bridge is clearing nicely. Nothing has changed with fly patterns. Still midges in the morning and the Reef’s PAL or GS Mayhem is getting the job done. From noon to 3 p.m. its all Baetis and patterns like the Juju, Rs2 foam post and a Pulsating Emerger are producing impressive numbers of trout. Both Fremont Canyon and the Miracle Mile are fishing well. Standard nymph rigs like a Pine Squirrel Leech, Purple Impaler and a Pat’s Rubber legs are doing the brunt of the damage at the Mile and smaller midge and Baetis stuff is tearing them up in the Canyon.
Don’t forget about our new cottages and RV sites. We still have many prime dates open, especially during the week. Things are about as good as it gets on Grey Reef. Let us share our fantastic fishery with you!
