North Platte River Report

Well, the gauges are back on line at the flows are as follows: Grey Reef  500 cfs, Miracle Mile 1000 cfs and Fremont Canyon 1000 cfs.  I received favorable reports from just about everyone yesterday.  The wade fishing at the dam was great.  The trout were eating just about everything from worms and leeches, to crayfish and RS2’s.  A friend of the fly shop landed (and kept) a 6 1/2 lb walleye too!  Not much changed below the bridge other than the flows.  Patterns are the same as here at Grey Reef.  Anglers who hit either the Miracle Mile or Fremont Canyon enjoyed some solitude and good fishing at both locations.  Large San Juan worms were the fly of choice at both parts of the river.

As the vegetation matures and stabilizes the fishing on all parts of the river will only get better.  This will be a great week to fish the North Platte!
