North Platte River Report / Grey Reef Fly Fishing

The weather may be a little on the uncomfortable side today but there are many anglers reaping the rewards.  Fremont Canyon is still producing good action from not only the canyon section, but the Cardwell area as well.  Yesterday a very prolific midge hatch provided some great dry fly opportunities from about late morning until mid afternoon.  The general lack of wind helped this out greatly!

All of our guides on the water yesterday reported very good numbers of trout brought to hand.  Upper Grey Reef  (Dam to Lusby) is your best bet to float right now as the diminishing flows from the flush make going to Government Bridge a bit of a push.  Nymphing continues to be the way to go for the fish counters, but the die hard streamer lovers are taking the occasional big trout also.
