It’s been a bit since our last fishing report and things have changed. To start, here are our current flows… Grey Reef has dropped to 800 cfs, the Miracle Mile bumped up and is holding steady at 1,500 cfs +/-, and as for Fremont—it has dropped down to 80 cfs. Water conditions are good, especially the clarity on Grey Reef. Now, the big question we’ve been getting is regarding water temperatures. Currently, Upper Grey Reef is in good shape, hovering around the 60°F mark. Our guide crew is taking multiple temperatures daily, making sure it’s not getting too warm. This is definitely the time of year to practice correct fish-handling techniques. Try to keep them in the water and minimize handling; if you do touch them, make sure to wet your hands first. As for the fishing, tricos and caddis are the two main hatches at this point. Fish are looking up, so the dry fly thing is definitely a thing. Nymphs and streamers are working well, so pack the quiver if you’re headed our way.
