Well, we are officially making our way into the back end of August. Wow, this season has flown by! The past few weeks have been interesting, stable conditions but the fish just haven’t quite keyed in on the surface bugs. Hoppers bouncing around and trico clouds swarming in the morning, the fish just aren’t wanting to look up. Our inside source has notified us of another drop in flows coming this Monday, August 26. Grey Reef will be dropping to 2,300cfs and the Mile to 800cfs. This might just be the drop we’ve been waiting for to send things into warp drive. We know our guide crew is looking forward to it!

Current fishing and conditions:

GREY REEF: 3,000cfs. Mostly clear to Glenrock. 3-8ft, indicator to split shot, 1 BB-3 AB. Leeches(natural,brown or olive), UV leeches, San Juans, zirdles, Pat’s rubber legs, black foam-wing RS2 and birds nest.

FREMONT CANYON: 900cfs. Clear. 4-7ft, indicator to split shot, 1-3 AB. Leeches(natural, brown or black), san juan worm(red or purple), cased caddis and FB pheasant tails.

MIRACLE MILE: 1,600cfs +/-. Clear. 4-7ft, indicator to split shot, 1-3 AB. Leeches(natural, brown or black), HH leech, san juan(red or wine), Pat’s rubber legs, cased caddis, electric caddis and cdc pheasant tails.
