CONGRATS to Joe of the ELKAY MFG group. He landed a rainbow yesterday that went just shy of 25″ with Trevor on the oars. CONGRATS also to Lee, TRFS guide and shop hand on a 26″ brown. It was landed on a green and white double bunny on the upper Grey Reef. Both big fish came within a 1/4 mile of each other.
Grey Reef had a long sustained rain last night and the afterbay and river are muddy as a result. We are cancelling our trips for tomorrow as the river will likely not be in good condition. Miracle Mile roads are super muddy. The last couple days have been overcast and a little cooler and the baetis have responded. Some good dry fly, excellent mini rig nymphing and productive streamer fishing have kept things interesting.
We have some good availability both with guides and lodging accommodations this weekend. Things have been very tame with regards to river traffic and the fishing is amazing. Book a last minute Memorial Day trip!
We still have one room for 5 nights available in June. If you are interested in a June this is the one. July has 3 rooms available the 10-14…great time to be here and on the water.
