Snow Again!

Funny weather as a a week ago we had temps as low as -22*, yesterday we almost broke a record high and were one degree short of the 52* record. This AM all was calm until about 7:15 when it started snowing very hard. We might expect 2-4″ but it should be short lived. Fishing was excellent yesterday on both nymph and streamer rigs. This weekend looks great for fishing and other local activities include a ski at either our amazing Nordic Center or at a fun Mom and Pop alpine area called Hogadon…both about 15-20 minutes from downtown Casper. Quite a few miles of snowmobile trails are now groomed and about the same distance which is too close not to. Snowshoe and ski rentals available from Mountain Sports and Ragged Edge in Casper. The 5 Trail Center (museum) is hosting plenty of kids activities for Christmas and the Nic (art museum) and the Science Zone always have great kids programs. Skate with Santa at our indoor ice facility which is adjacent to our newest indoor swimming. Lots of sporting activities like 5k runs and last night was the first “Headlamp Series XC Ski Race” of the season. Ski a fun course in the dark with folks of all abilities…super fun! Eat at Fire Rock, Jay’s Pub, Botticelli or a plethora of familiar  franchise restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings, Olive Garden, Qdoba, Famous Dave’s Etc. Etc Etc. Lodging options are very good with The Reef Cottages being tops on our list 😉 . The Casper area has tons to offer but it isn’t always easy to discover. Call us to get the “low down” on community happenings and features. You will feel like you have discovered a hidden secret.

This short paragraph is to contrast the run on situation above^^. Above is also a picture of our latest scheme, who knows if we can pull it off for 2014 but we are gonna give it a go! Yurts are really cool spaces and would compliment our already great facility at The Reef Fly Shop, Cottages and RV.
