Flows are up and the fish are hot! The flows have remained stable for a few days now and the fish have relaxed into a good feeding program. PMD’s, Sallies, Caddis, Midges, worms, and leeches are all on the menu. Morning and evening streamer activity is heating up fast, there have been a lot of big browns chasing and moving on streamers! High water is the time when we see the truly big fish come out and consistently feed! Rusty Trombone, Goldie, Mini dungeon, and peanut envy are all great streamer patterns right now.
Fremont- 750 CFS Fishing has been good since the bump in flows, don’t let the big water scare you off! Concentrate your efforts on all the softer, slower water up there. Annelids, redneck, Millers tactical, pheasant tails, rs2’s, and PALs have all been good flies.
Miracle Mile- 1,500 CFS – Golden Stone time is just starting up there! Pat’s rubber legs, BH 20 incher, and the halfback have all been seeing some action as well as san juans, pheasant tails, rs2’s, and leeches. Fishing has been fairly good with some days being outstanding.
Grey Reef- 3,000 CFS The bump in flows has slowed the summer bug hatches but we should still see big PMD, yellow sally, and caddis hatches as the water warms up a little. The fish are still eating those bugs though, pheasant tails, birdsnest, and PMD Barr’s emergers are all working.. San Juans, leeches, and midges have all been go-tos as well. We’re fishing a little shorter and lighter now that the flows are up and focusing our efforts on the slow inside edges, seams, and ledges right now.
