It’s gonna hit us at some point but wow, it’s been a truly amazing winter thus far. Arguably the nicest December we have ever seen. It’s borderline crazy! Hopefully you’ve all found some time on the water or in the field. But let us be honest, it’s gonna happen at some point. Right? Well regardless, we are going to continue to enjoy it while we have it.
For those you wondering, here’s a current conditions/fishing report…
GREY REEF: 500cfs. Mostly clear/slightly off-color. Winter program, nymphing the slower water. Lower half of the runs, seams and deeper stuff. Leeches, scuds, and midges. Length/weight depends on the depth of water and speed but 6ft indicator to split(1 BB-1 AB) is a great place to start. Slow stripping a streamer(rusty-t, goldie, etc.) on an intermediate line is getting some grabs.
FREMONT CANYON: 72cfs. Mostly clear. Nymphing is the name of the game, scuds and midge stuff has been or go-to as of late.
MIRACLE MILE: 550cfs. Mostly clear. Similar to Grey Reef as far as the fly selection goes, just throw in a few red worms. Road conditions are excellent for right now but as we all know that is very much subject to change as we get weather. If you have any questions make sure to check with us or someone that actually knows what they are talking about.
