Wyoming Fishing Report, Falling Rocks and Snow

Central and Southern Wyoming are in a short-lived winter weather pattern. Casper and Alcova are not in bad shape but there is a skiff of snow on the ground. Grey Reef turned a bit off color below Government Bridge as a result of moisture yesterday. This will correct itself very quickly. The benefits of these conditions? Awesome pictures due to very good fishing, fewer folks on the water and big baetis hatches gets the fish high in the column. Expect dry fly at Fremont, lousy roads to Miracle Mile but if you are already there, i.e. stuck, the fishing will cooperate nicely. Plan on rowdy fish at Grey Reef and skip the Big Horn since the Wind River Canyon is closed as a result of very unstable canyon wall. Wyoming Department of Transportation has been clearing and monitoring the situation for the past couple days…it doesn’t look pretty. Grey Reef is the king, per usual, and Fremont will deliver undoubtedly.
