Wyoming Fly Fishing

Grey Reef fishing report is a touch tougher on the angler these past couple weeks due to snow or wind. Make no mistake the fish are eating well. Yesterday was much nicer than the previous couple…warm but not as breezy. Just as we are about to rid ourselves of the pesky piles of snow we get another round of moisture. Currently snowing and with a couple inches already on the ground will add to our positive North Platte River snowpack report from yesterday. Wyoming statewide tally is +17%! Good news but it doesn’t mean anything if March and April aren’t equally as moist.

Nymphing Grey Reef with leeches, scuds, midges is very productive. Slow strip with articulated Goldie will get plenty of follows. Fremont Canyon shares the same fishing report, good fishing and nymphing the most productive right now. Miracle Mile fishing report is very similar but the addition of the old red San Juan worm is important. Roads will again be snowy today but yesterday Miracle Mile road conditions were firm and dry.
