Grey Reef fly fishing report is excellent and beyond. Fish are in the coolest places and eating dry/dropper rigs, mini rigs, streamers etc. Grey Reef flows are still low and we should see a bump any day. All Day Mays, UV Crystal Midges, Foam Wing RS2, pheasant tails, CDC cased PMD Emergers etc etc. Plenty of Yellow Sallies cruising around on the rocks and immature PMD nymphs squiggling around. Midges are super important as well and don’t forget the caddis where you get to use the real Rock Worm.

Miracle Mile Fly Fishing report is good with some folks scratching their head and wondering where the fish are. This has been a common theme. Not near as productive as Grey Reef in general. Do move further down into the tail outs and that might amplify your success. Fremont Canyon AKA Cardwell Access Area is busy and fishing really well with all the same Grey Reef bugs.

Casper, Wyoming has a lot going on this summer with the College National Finals Rodeo, PRCA rodeo and Central Wyoming Fair, Rev3 Cowboy Tough Adventure Race, lots of mountain bike events including a fun event at Glendo the 3rd weekend in June. The Beartrap Summer Bluegrass Festival will have Jalan Crossland returning for 2 shows and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band as the headliner…should be really fun! Couple that with Grey Reef’s excellent summer fishing and the Alcova Lake scene (Awesome Carp fishing at Alcova and Pathfinder) and you have the makings of great memories.

The North Platte Lodge has some excellent September and October availabilities so get your schedule cleared for a Grey Reef bonanza. The Reef Fly Shop, Cottage & RV has good RV availability and some cottages yet available for amazing summer accommodations. They can imitate but they don’t have the quality, size or location. There is no substitute for the real deal. Where else can you go for the best location, nicest facility, drift boat rentals, river shuttles, BuffTrout gear, Grey Reef’s largest and most experienced full time guide staff and the most exclusive private access? The only private properties on Grey Reef Rd is where.
