Established in 1998, NPL has specialized in Wyoming fly fishing vacations for over two decades. A deep-rooted sensibility and attention to detail culminates in North Platte Lodge’s undisputed benchmarks: a professional fly fishing guide staff with nearly 150 years of combined North Platte River guiding experience and a location that was only available to the pathfinders of Grey Reef fly fishing. Owner-operated with a philosophy that is equal parts relaxed, driven and laser-focused on the here and now. Never pretentious yet always intent to make sure your visit was the highlight of your year, the crew at the North Platte Lodge performs with a personal touch and a casual urgency. Now is a great time to settle into a clean, comfortable guest room, meet your gracious hosts, fill-up on authentic Western cuisine, fish with our top-shelf guides, and experience front-door access to some of the best trout water in the West.
So, sip a cup of coffee in the morning from our large covered deck, watch the sun shake loose, then lace up boots and charge into the day. This is quintessential Wyoming: raw landscapes where four-season fisheries teem with wild browns and rainbows, and where Western fly fishing culture is interwoven into genuine experiences on and off the river.
North Platte Lodge is unapologetically a dyed-in-the-wool fly fishing and hunting operation. It is no surprise that we celebrate attributes like a wildly experienced guide crew and great access. But what may surprise you is the “off the water” or “back from the field” arrangement. For privacy, settle into one of our six guest rooms purposefully designed to accommodate single or double occupancy and groups ranging from a single angler to full lodge groups of twelve guests. Each room has 2 queen beds, a private bathroom and a separate entrance. Additional privacy is found in our quiet living space or stepping outside into hundreds of vacant acres of prairie immediately surrounding our exclusive Grey Reef location. North Platte Lodge is a social place and the large rustic dining table is where many friends are made. Once back from the day, our guests always seem to fix a cocktail and migrate back and forth from our chart topping deck to the kitchen area where appetizers are served nightly. After devouring an expertly plated dinner and dessert guests scatter to their chambers, the main living room, take a stroll or back to the deck to breathe in as much fresh air as they can. Hopefully, Wyoming provides the light show of a late evening thunderstorm crackling across the ridge in the distance. Mornings come quick and most folks say they haven’t “slept like that in years” or “heard a quiet, quite like that”. Coffee and a full spread of breakfast options wait for you to emerge…but most importantly, coffee. The guides are prepping for your day and waiting just steps out the front door.
*If you feel more comfortable with a little more space or aren’t an overtly social creature, we’ve also feature a breakfast nook with awesome views where you are welcomed to take meals or dine on the deck with tons of airspace and lots of dining furniture.
Come by yourself, with your spouse, a friend or rally your crew or business colleagues and take over the entire lodge. We customize your stay for one to twelve guests and from a single day of hunting or fishing to a weeklong adventure. Our Corporate and Group program is perfect for entertaining your customers or reconnecting with family and friends. We’ve been helping businesses with team and relationship building for years. The power of lowering your guard and making personal connections is no joke at NPL.
