First things first, what a weird, mild winter we are having. With the exception of a few days here and there, Grey Reef has been pretty much wide open thus far. That being said, it should change in the next few days as a bitter cold front makes its way through Central Wyoming. Fishing as you would expect hasn’t really slowed down and it has definitely been worth getting out on the nice(non-windy) days. Nymphing, streamers and some occasional fish on top slurping midges has been the program. So with that, we wanted to make folks aware of a few changes here in 2026…

1.) The shop will no longer be selling fishing licenses, so please make sure to have it before you get here.

2.) There have been positive, substantial changes made to our North Platte fishing regs. Make sure you’re up to speed.

MIRACLE MILE– single point barbless hooks only and no floating upstream of the bridge(Seminoe road).
FREMONT CANYON– single point barbless hooks only and no pegged attractors.
GREY REEF– from Grey Reef Dam to Government Bridge aka Miles landing, single point barbless hooks only and no pegged attractors.

3.) Guides on Wyoming waterways are now responsible to have the appropriate sticker on both their boat and trailer. These stickers are paid for through Wyoming Game and Fish and guides will be reporting on what they are floating on a daily basis. If your guide does not have this, they are operating illegally.
